Barring a few large cities, the parts of Ukraine we’ve seen so far have been incredibly sparsely populated. This week is no different, as the landscape appears even more rural than ever as we enter Lesivka, in the Kharkiv Oblast. The village names on the map give the appearance of countless communities, but each name represents just a handful of houses. I suspect this will be common moving forward.

In raw numbers we remain over 200 miles behind our target, but Tom’s got his bike out, so I’m optimistic.
