This week we passed through Indonesia’s capital Jakarta, home to over 10M souls. Our route has largely avoided large cities, being on one of only two major routes that cross the country.

We did not stop to sightsee, as we quickly moved on into the Indonesian countryside, as seen in the streetviews below.

We are -25 miles behind target, which I hold my hands up to not delivering those miles this past week.

Another couple of weeks have passed and we’re on a new island. Officially Indonesia has 17,024 islands and this one is called Java. It is known for its delicious coffee and a causing me to purchase JAVA for dummies in 2001, which left me confused as to why anyone would code it in. I hate JAVA, and I hate Bradford lecturers, and the weather there, and the city… anyway…

We’re east of Cilegon, Indonesia. Seems nice. We’re also 17 miles ahead of target. Bravo!
