Today we find ourselves in Montgomery, Alabama, 65 miles behind target with 1664 miles left. We have only Georgia and Florida left, before heading across the Atlantic to Portugal. Amazingly we may yet complete the challenge before GHS is fully knocked down.

It’s week 92 and we’ve passed through Bald Knob (Arkansas), across the Mississippi river, all the way to the town of Olive Branch. Which, should surprise no one, is perhaps the nicest place we’ve visited if reviews are to go by. Shops, restaurants, churches, all rave reviews. Especially Piggly Wiggly, with their $5 meat isle.

We are only -62 miles behind target, which is approximately, one Johnny walk, a Matt and Chris run, and a Bowers family bike ride. It’s doable.

We remain 100 miles behind our target, in Red Oak, Oklahoma, situated on the lands of the Choctaw Nation. We’ve left behind the plains and it’s already looking greener on the other side.

Welcome to Texas, Boss! We find ourselves only 79 miles behind target in Silverton, Texas. I’d like to spotlight Silverton because it intrigues me. Nearly perfectly square and on a grid, it’s in the arse-end of nowhere. Yet, it has everything you’d need – multiple churches, a trailer park, a Dollar General, an absurdly large cemetery, and even a school with sports stands, despite only having a reported 640 residents. Perfection.

Goodbye New Zealand. I have shortchanged you with my lack of posts recently. I am sorry! I have included a few Streetview shots of the scenery over the past couple of weeks. A beautiful route, should you ever want to run it IRL.

We now find ourselves in our last new continent. North America! We are 18 miles East of San Diego harbor and have already begun to hit South California’s countryside.

We are 81 miles behind target, with 2,794 miles to go.

In other news, Johnny Evans passed his goal of 1,730 miles for the year. Astonishing.
