Virtual Challenge: Day 7

As the sunsets on the 1st week of our challenge it is obvious we have a problem, and that problem is Chris. Scampering into the distance with over 40 miles covered (including a half marathon), he will soon need his own map, doubling my efforts!

The rest of us mere mortals have all made good progress as we take the left at Penzance and begin to head north:

Virtual Challenge: Day 3

Day 3 concludes with everyone making consistent progress touring through our first county (Cornwall). Johnny, the last to leave Lands End, is now six miles up the A30, while Marathon Man Chris leads the way at 17 miles completed.

Let’s look at some of the sights we’ve seen so far…

Firsrtly we’ve all passed this lovely looking Fish & Chips shop, almost certainly full of fresh and locally caught cod.

Moving out of Sennan we enjoyed the views of the south coast.

Carlin is passing this quaint old cottage, probably featured on Escape to the Country.

Entering Lower Drift we see their “world famous” standing stones. All two of them. You’ll need to look closely. Surely a candidate for UNESCO world heritage status.

Matt is passing through the north shore town of Hayle

while Chris is pressing on along the A30 to Connor Downs.

A long way to go and lots more to see.

Welcome to Lyne Road Running Club

Finally, nearly twenty years since the inception of Lyne Road Running Club, we are going Digital, live on the world-wide web. Behold lyneroad.com!

Built upon a foundation of Excellence, atop a bedrock of Resilience and Fortitude, Lyne Road Running Club’s vision of being the premier running club in North Kidlington, has catapulted our runners to worldwide success at all distances.

We now arise to a new challenge – a virtual Lands End to John o’ Groats via The Six Bells Kidlington. Totaling 861 miles, participants will walk, run, or cycle the streets from Oxfordshire to the USA, in the hope of completing this virtual tour of Great Britain.

Who will bask in glory in the Scottish Highlands? Who will fall before reaching Penzance? Stay tuned for the race of the decade.
