Virtual Challenge: Day 119

I made it, Kidlington, and almost exactly at the Six Bells. Pure coincidence too. I now take the bend and head north, following in the footsteps of Chris and Kev.

Carlin had a good week, closing in on the pack, while Johnny must be on vacation, having remained stationary. Matty is enjoying the southern Cotswolds.

With nearly 1/3rd of the year done, Kev and Chris look set to complete the course by mid-summer. What an achievement that would be.

Here are the totals:

  • Chris – 530M – Glenbreck
  • Kev – 503M – Lockerbie
  • Dave – 235M – Kidlington
  • Matt – 185M – Little Drew
  • Jonny – 166M- Paulton
  • Tom – 123M – White Ball
  • Carlin – 100M – Morchard Bishop

And some screenshots of where each of us are located. Chris and Kev in beautiful Scotland, Dave by the pub (overshot The Six Bells), Matty in a country lane, Johnny next to the most English little post box, and Tom and Carlin in two very different Devon country paths.

Virtual Challenge: Day 112

It’s official, Cornwall is now in the rear view mirror, with Carlin passing into Devon! The heat is oppressive over here in Florida, so we’ve largely moved to cycling.

Chris, following his marathon, had his quietist week yet. Blaming it on his toenail injuries. Perhaps a “worst injuries” section is warranted, following in the footsteps the incredibly popular feature on the Sad Ham’s website.

Anyhoo, everyone is doing a sterling job, here are the results thus far:

  • Chris – 512M – Moffat
  • Kev – 458M – Penrith
  • Dave – 212M – Southrop
  • Matt – 181M – The Shoe
  • Jonny – 166M- Paulton
  • Tom – 116M – Uplowman
  • Carlin – 78M – Ebsworth

Let’s see where we all are:

Chris in Moffat (Scotland)…

Kev in Penrith…

Dave in Southrop…

Matty in The Shoe…

Johnny in Paulton…

Tom in Uplowman…

Carlin in Ebsworth…

Keep it up everyone!

The First Annual Spring Lyne Road Running Club Nature Week Photography Challenge 2024

Lyne Road Running Club is excited to present the entries into the Spring Nature Week Photography Challenge.

Inspiring, creative, bold, challenging, and beautiful are all words that could be used (sparingly) for this collection. Let’s take a look.

Chris
Focusing on dirty paths, piles of sticks, and a pitiful looking stream, Chris really captures Oxfordshire running life.

Johnny
Bringing attention to the little known issue of exploited child labour in England’s countryside, Johnny presents a local Gardner, forced into capturing wild animals.

Matty
Bravo, really well done. Stock image?

Dave
Stunning, blinding morning light. Plus a rabbit.

Thank you to all who contributed and look out for the The Lyne Road Running Club Annual Summer Nature Week Photography Challenge.

Virtual Challenge: Day 78

Day 78 and the pack are still desperately trying to reach the Six Bells for a Light and Bitter. Everyone managed some miles this week except Tom, who has a bad case of the sniffles.

Meanwhile Chris is passing Blackpool and headed towards the Lake District, while Kev is playing a round at The Belfrey.

Total miles covered are:

David: 139M
Chris: 395M
Johnny: 94M
Matt: 105M
Tom: 99M

I’ve received submissions for the Nature Week Photography Challenge 2024 from most of you and I’ll be posting them later this week. Except for one from Chris. He knows which one.

Keep it up.

A brief one today. I want to give a shout out to Matt and Tom, who after a couple of quiet weeks got back on the road with some good numbers.
