Goodbye Europe. Cheerio Russia. Hello (Istay) Kazakhstan and Asia. Very Nice!

As a reminder, so far we have crossed England, France, Belgium, Netherlands, Germany, Poland, Ukraine, and Russia. All in less than 5 months! Next up we have all the stans – Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Afghanistan, and Pakistan. Countries I know far too little about. Guest blog post spotlighting each country are welcome!

It’s week 20 and we find ourselves in Seitovka, Russia. For the last two weeks we have mostly travelled along dirt tracks and empty roads, as we wind our way towards the border.

Unfortunately, our target slips further into the distance. But summer is coming, injuries are healing, and I’m getting back on the bike. So perhaps we can keep up this week.

We find ourselves in the Kharbinskiy Zakaznik nature reserve, Russia. I can’t find any photos and Google doesn’t tell me much, other than it’s apparently good for bird watching.

Another 123 miles completed, and we reach Ergeninskii, Russia. We’re now predominantly on dirt tracks / minimally paved roads, with the odd village sprinkled along the route.
